The annual Junior School Symposium is an enrichment day of enhanced learning involving all students. The annual Symposium theme provided the opportunity for students to explore new interests and broaden their range of skills and experiences within a range of subject areas.
'Time'
Collaborative Collage
Examples of a collaborative artwork produced as part of a whole school Symposium day based on the theme of Time. Over sixty students aged 9 to 10 worked over the course of a day in response to the theme of Time in order to contribute to this collaborative collage.
As part of the Symposium day students researched and responded to the theme of Time across a range of subjects. In art students explored the surreal and comical aspects of the Dada art movement in order to provide inspiration for their work. The emotions and memories associated with being late were the main focus of this artwork. As the day progressed students gathered their own research and built upon the work of their peers to develop this complex and multi-faceted piece.

Examples of a collaborative stop-motion animation enrichment workshops inspired by the Symposium of Conflict and Resolution. Students were introduced to the skills required to create a successful animation and collaborate with others.
Students worked in teams to plan and produce a short stop-motion animation depicting their interpretation of the theme Conflict and Resolution. Students had to find ways to work together constructively, solve problems, plan and execute their creative vision.
