I curated a permanent art-science installation made up of over 500 individual artworks created by over 200 students aged 10-11 years. The aim of this project was to highlight the link between art and science and showcase the cross-curricular learning between these two subject areas.
Students used the cells and bacteria they had studied in their science lessons to inspire the creation of the artwork. Students used cheek, skin, plant and nerve cells as well as common forms of bacteria to inspire their artwork. An emphasis on planning, problem solving, experimentation and student choice was a key focus of this unit.
