Students began this project by exploring and identifying the differences between hot and cold colours. Students made associations and connections between emotion, mood and colours.
Choosing from warm or cool colour palettes, students practised their colour mixing skills and experimented with a range of ink blending techniques. Creative risk taking with application and manipulation of ink, water and brush led to exciting and unexpected results.

Experimental printmaking
Students experimented with using unusual recycled materials to create textured printing blocks. Materials such as plastic egg cartons, bubble wrap, fruit packaging and plastic bottles were re-purposed to create re-usable and sustainable printing tools for the art room.
Students experimented with the effects of using hot and cold colours to create repeated patterns and layered surface designs on canvas.
