Students explored the traditional Japanese art of fish printing, Gyotaku. Firstly students learnt about the techniques and history of Gyotaku before experimenting with a range of methods to create their own Gyotaku prints.
Students had to give careful consideration to the amount of pressure and the application of ink in order to obtain the desired amount of texture and detail in their Gyotaku prints.
