Below are examples of displays celebrating and showcasing student artwork throughout the school environment.

Staff room art

To showcase art across the school I curated a display of student artwork in staff rooms. The original artworks were created by students aged 9 to 10 years and were professionally printed onto canvases. Students felt pride in seeing their artwork displayed in this way.

Collaborative art-science installation

I created a permanent art science installation featuring work by 220 students aged 10-11 years. Students used the cells and bacteria they had studied in their science lessons to inspire the creation of the artwork.

Collaborative paintings

The artist in residence, Ian Murphy worked with students aged 9-10 years  to produce a series of large scale collaborative paintings inspired by Chinese culture. Teams of students worked together to research, design and paint a series of four large painted panels with elements of input and support from Mandarin teachers.

The finished paintings created by students were permanently installed in the newly built Mandarin language centre to celebrate its opening and showcase student artwork.

Current art and design exhibition notice board

To raise the profile of art within the schools I have taught at, I created and kept regularly updated a range of 'current art and design exhibition' notice board displays. These displays showcase and promote opportunities for staff and students to view a range of art and design exhibitions in the local area.
