In this unit students responded to the theme of landscape by exploring a range of art disciplines and experimenting with a variety of techniques, processes and materials whilst investigating the work of a range of artists and global locations.
Relief Printmaking
Students experimented with the process of relief printmaking to create a series of landscape studies inspired by a range of mountainous landscapes around the globe. The expressive pen and ink drawings by artist Vincent Van Gogh provided inspiration for students to explore a variety of mark-making techniques.
Careful consideration was given to the use of mark-making, texture and positive and negative space to create a sense of depth and develop balanced and lively compositions.
